Picture of a nanny sitting on floor while mother and child take seats in Delhi metro sparks debate
A photograph shared by a Twitter user trying to show class divide in our society is creating ripples on the micro-blogging platform. The photo shows a mother with her small child sitting on the seat of a Delhi metro coach while the caretaker of the child takes the floor, despite ample space available for her to sit on seats.
Seen in Delhi metro: Mother and child take seats while the child’s nanny sits on the floor on a fairly empty train. Caste/class discrimination really is space-agnostic. pic.twitter.com/cawsIU2zWs

The tweet has gone viral with over 7000 retweets and has sparked one of the most polarizing debates on social media.
While some felt that the class division in the society was so inherent that despite availability of seats, the supposedly 'low caste' nanny "knew her place in the society" and thus found it appropriate to sit on the floor.
Equally disgusting is several high rises having separate lifts for maids and such like!!! And in high rises mind you. Where supposedly the educated India lives.

While others pulled-up the photographer for not taking a corrective action and instead clicking a picture, if she felt so strongly about the class discrimination. They even pointed to the vacant seat next to her.
@DhingraSanya instead of posting this foolish ..you would have ask her to sit on empty chair.

Some also argued that it could be "out of choice" much like many who prefer to stand despite metro being empty. And why did not u offered her a seat besides u as i can see empty one..?? pic.twitter.com/ASbtdyQzPH
