Policeman finds abandoned baby on winter night, wraps her up in his uniform

The baby was found by passersby in Futa Park on Wednesday night

In a touching moment, a policeman in China took off his uniform in freezing cold and used it to keep an abandoned baby warm. The policeman Wu Yu is being hailed as a hero for his quick reaction and gesture on a freezing winter night in Chuxiong, Yunnan Province, in China.

The baby was found by passersby in Futa Park on Wednesday night and police were informed immediately, Daily Mail quoted reports from local news site Yunnan.cn. Wu and his colleagues were sent to the scene to investigate further and found the baby lying in the bush crying.

Police at the scene said the baby was so cold that his lips had turned purple and his body was shivering as the temperature was as low as zero degrees Celcius in the province. Report also said the baby had kicked off a piece of clothing wrapped around him.

That is when policeman Wu Yu immediately took off his uniform and jumper and wrapped them around the baby and tried to warm up the boy by hugging him in his arms.

Despite being topless in the freezing cold weather, Wu took the baby to the hospital for treatment. The Chuxiong Public Security Bureau is hunting for the baby's parents.
