Son locks up 96-year-old mother in house, goes holidaying
She only had a few biscuits to eat as she was unable to move around in the house
In a horrifying case of neglect and apathy, a man from Kolkata locked up his 96-year-old mother alone inside her home and left for a holiday.
The woman, Sabita Nath, was sleeping when her son left her and was rescued by her daughter 24 hours later, according to reports in The Times of India.
The elderly woman was quoted saying, "When I woke up I found they were all gone. There was no way I could contact him. I could understand their intentions, but I am too old to do anything." Nath added that she only had a few biscuits to eat as she was unable to move around in the house by herself.
She also said that as she was unable to walk, she could not go to the washroom and threw up inside the room which she cleaned it herself.
Nath has lodged a complaint against her son.
