Strong earthquake shook Iraq, Shock waves felt in Qatar, Kuwait and UAE

A powerful earthquake shook the Iran-Iraq border, killing and injuring several civilians. 

After a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Kurdish region in Northern Iraq, tremors were felt as far away as Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE as reported in qatarliving. 

According to US Geological Survey, quake struck at 10:18 pm, at a depth of 33.9km. This Sunday's quake hit close to Halabjah, southeast of Sulaymaniyah, a city in the Iraqi area controlled by the Kurdistan Regional Government.

 

Atleast 13 people had been killed in Iraq because of the quake and the exact extent of damage and casualties is yet to be figured out.

The tremors of the quake was felt in Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE. A few people took to online networking and posted their encounters.
