Important Guidelines for International Tourists

Short-term tourists cannot use the IBRAZ app during their stay. The Royal Oman Police requires an official residency card for the app. However, tourists possess a very valuable duty-free shopping loophole.

You can buy alcohol at Muscat and Salalah airports immediately upon arrival. Duty-free shops sit conveniently between baggage reclaim and the customs desks. Customs agents allow up to four liters of alcohol per arriving tourist.

You can also purchase up to 24 cans of beer instead. You must transport these bottles directly to your private hotel room. Buying at the airport saves you significant money during your vacation.
