Multiple Users Facing Freezing Issues With Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 users seem to be facing a new issue that leads it to randomly freeze while working on it. The affected users have took it to Samsung's US community forum to complain about the problem.

The first complaint was made by a user on September 27. "I am having some issues with my new Note 8 that I got yesterday. I set up speed dial and sometimes it will call but not show the contact info and sometimes it will just outright freeze on me. I am currently dialing each and every one of my contacts as of now to avoid this issue. Also I see that some people are having issues with third party apps which I haven't ran into yet and hope I don't. I have tried everything and it doesn't seem to fix it and seems like Samsung will have to dispatch a hot fix soon," said the user.

The latest complaint was made a day ago on the forum. "My note 8 freezes constantly when using apps like Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. Hope this is just a software issues and can be fixed soon," says another user.

A majority of Galaxy Note 8 users say that the freeze involves the Contacts app. Some have even complained that rebooting the handset, clearing cache and performing factory resets also don't help in solving the issue in long term.

There is no word from Samsung as of yet. The exact reason for the issue is also not clear.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was launched in India in September this year at Rs 67,900. Running Android 7.1 Nougat, the handset comes with a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED 'Infinity' display, octa-core Exynos processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage, dual rear 12MP sensor and an 8MP front-facing sensor. There is also a 3300mAh battery onboard.
