Samsung Galaxy S8 v iPhone 7 PRICE DROP but which is really the cheapest smartphone?

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Apple’s iPhone 7 have both received major price cuts in recent weeks making it a very good time to own one.

During the Black Friday sales, Samsung’s award-winning S8 was reduced to its lowest ever cost and Apple’s iPhone 7 has also been slashed in price.

But with most of those deals now over and the Christmas spending spree ahead what are now the cheapest deals and which device will cost you less over a usual 24-month contract?

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 is the newest of these two phones and was launched earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 was first unveiled in September 2016 making it a few months behind the S8.

Both devices feature great cameras, fast processors and decent displays, although Samsung’s curved AMOLED screen certainly gives it the edge when it comes to design.

That said, Apple still has a massive following with many consumers only wanting an iPhone in their pocket and this older smartphone now offers incredible value.

Here’s what the S8 and iPhone 7 will currently cost you on a two year deal.

VERDICT

It's not often Apple prices are lower that Samsung's but, right now, it seems the iPhone 7 is better value with a monthly cost of £23 per month.

It may be a few months older than the S8, and it doesn't feature an edge-to-edge display, but Apple's 2016 iPhone is still an excellent device.

If it's a Galaxy S8 that you are after it's definitely worth seeing what deals become available over the coming weeks.

Samsung looks set to launch its Galaxy S9 early next year and the S8's prices could tumble even further once this new flagship is announced.
