Good conduct certificate in UAE: Deadline for Filipinos, Indonesian workers postponed

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation issued a circular to all Tasheel centres confirming that a good conduct certificate for Filipinos and Indonesian domestic workers has been postponed.

Khaleej Times through an independent source at the ministry confirmed that Filipinos and Indonesian nationalities will not require good conduct certificate till June of this year.

Tasheel centres nationwide have been instructed to continue good conduct certificates for all other nationalities in the domestic worker sector for those who reside outside the country or within but under a tourist visa status, as per an Al Ittihad report.

If the worker is within the country, a copy of the residency cancellation is sufficient.

Any Tasheel centre which does not obtain the good conduct certificate from the nationalities of those required, will be held legally liable for their negligence.

The paperwork for domestic workers can be processed electronically through the Tasheel website represented by a citizen, diplomat, or GCC national, their representatives or individuals with power of attorney from the sponsor.

The resident must be physically present at the Tasheel centre with their Emirates ID card.

The committee coordinating the implementation of the Cabinet's decision No. 1/8 for 2017, stipulated that workers applying for employment must possess a good conduct certificate to acquire a work visa as of February 4, 2018.

The certificate must be issued from the person's home country or the their country of residence for the last five years. It must be attested from consulates abroad or by customer happiness centres of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The committee had intimated that the good conduct certificate is required of the individual and not of the family which supports them.

The certificate is not required of those who come on tourist or visit visa.
