Switzerland vs Bosnia 4-1

Bosnia Collapses Completely After Aging Dzeko Leaves the Pitch

A Frustrating Afternoon

Edin Dzeko played a completely quiet, highly frustrating match today. The 40-year-old veteran struggled heavily against the physical Swiss defense. He managed one decent shot that a sliding defender easily blocked. Dzeko mostly chased shadows as Switzerland completely dominated ball possession. The veteran striker earned a frustrated yellow card in the 61st minute.

The Manager Pulls the Plug

Bosnian manager Sergej Barbarez noticed his star player fading rapidly. He removed Dzeko from the pitch in the 63rd minute. Esmir Bajraktarevic entered the game to provide fresh attacking energy. Dzeko officially became the oldest Bosnian player to ever play a World Cup match. However, his historic appearance ended with a completely forgettable performance.

The Defensive Implosion

Bosnia actually maintained a clean sheet while Dzeko remained on the field. The team completely imploded shortly after he hit the bench. Tarik Muharemovic took a disastrous straight red card in the 80th minute. The Swiss attackers immediately punished this mistake with three brutal goals. Granit Xhaka sealed the 4-1 humiliation with a late penalty. Bosnia desperately needs younger talent to survive this tournament.
