Sabalenka Maintains Top WTA Ranking and Nears Historic Milestone

Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka maintained her top WTA ranking today. She holds the number one spot for the 77th consecutive week.

This achievement marks her 85th total week leading the professional circuit. She strengthens her position as the eleventh longest-serving player in history.

Sabalenka successfully surpassed the legendary Chris Evert and her 76-week record. The Belarusian needs just three more weeks to tie Martina Hingis.

Recent Titles and Top Ten Rankings

Sabalenka displays incredible strength on the tennis court recently. She won both the Indian Wells and Miami titles this season.

These victories give her a massive 2917-point lead over the competition. Kazakh player Yelena Rybakina trails her closely in second place.

American Coco Gauff and Polish star Iga Swiatek took third and fourth. American Jessica Pegula successfully secured the fifth-place ranking today.

Amanda Anisimova, Elina Svitolina, and Jasmine Paolini claimed the next three spots. Victoria Mboko and Mira Andreeva rounded out the global top ten.

Charleston Open Highlights

Jessica Pegula solidified her ranking after a thrilling victory recently. She successfully defended her prestigious Charleston Open title.

She defeated Ukrainian Yulia Starodobit in the exciting final match. Starodobit produced a massive season upset during the tournament.

She defeated American Madison Keys in the thrilling semifinals. This brilliant performance jumped Starodobit 36 places to number 53 globally.

Bogota Results and Ranking Drops

The Copa Colsantes in Bogota featured brilliant professional performances too. Hungarian Bana Odvardi reached the final match before losing to Marie Bouzkova.

Odvardi rose 21 places to settle at number 71. Colombian Emiliana Arango climbed 20 places to reach number 86.

She reached the thrilling semi-finals in that same tournament. In contrast, several famous players experienced difficult ranking drops today.

Colombian Camila Osorio dropped 27 places to 81st overall. She lost her title during the difficult second round.

American Sofia Kenin dropped 19 places to 66th today. She lost her match in the Charleston round of 16.
