14 injured as fire breaks out at primary school

14 people have been taken to hospital after a fire inside Um Al Fadil primary school in Nizwa, according to officials.

The fire started in a classroom at the school in Birkat al Maouz. According to images released by the Public Authority for Civil Defence & Ambulance.

It’s not yet known whether any schoolchildren are among the injured.
 

The agency responded quickly to reports of the fire, and confirmed the injuries.

"The Civil Defense team managed to control and extinguish the fire with 14 injuries ranging from medium to simple, which were transferred to the health center through the ambulance,” PACDA said in an online statement.
