Driving school Cars Dip by 27.8 Per Cent

So far this year, a significant drop of 27.8 per cent has been witnessed by the new vehicles registered by driving schools in the Sultanate.

158 during the corresponding period last year only 114 vehicles were registered by driving schools during the period from January to September 2017 according to data from National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Mainly due to the weak sentiments prevailing in the job market has the fall happened, admitted  unanimously by instructors and experts. As result of uncertainty of a regular fixed income from the business, many driving schools are not buying new cars.  With commercial vehicles topping the table with 34.8 per cent drop, registration of new vehicles in total suffered a fall of 21.5 per cent with the exception of the rental market as shown by the figures of the NCSI.

Competing rates being offered by some driving schools and rise in fuel prices has turned the business less attractive as the market is currently experiencing a slowdown.

Finally, instead of investing  heavily in buying cars, most companies are opting for rentals only.
