GCC inflation 2026

GCC Inflation Remains Completely Stable Compared to Global Markets

A Moderate Economic Climate

The Gulf Cooperation Council countries successfully avoided massive global inflation spikes. The overall regional inflation rate recorded 2.2 percent during July 2026. This represents a tiny increase from the 2.1 percent recorded in June. The GCC inflation rate remains incredibly moderate right now. It sits significantly lower than averages across major Western economic blocs. The Statistical Center of the GCC released these official numbers today.

Housing and Food Costs Rise

The housing, water, electricity, and gas group drove this slight inflation increase. This essential sector contributed 0.82 percentage points to the annual rate. The food and non-alcoholic beverages group contributed another 0.51 percentage points. Clothing and footwear prices actually fell by 0.7 percent year-on-year. The GCC easily beats the OECD inflation average of 4.1 percent. India currently faces a much harsher 4.6 percent inflation rate locally.
