Heavy Rainfall and Flash Flood Warnings Active Across Oman
The Civil Aviation Authority just issued an urgent weather alert. Significant atmospheric instability threatens the Sultanate today.
Forecasters expect intense thunderstorms across many governorates. This critical alert remains active from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
Anticipated Weather Conditions
The weather system will likely cause sudden wadi flows. Mountainous and low-lying areas face severe flash flood risks.
The official forecast includes heavy rain and strong downward winds. Storms might also bring hail and reduce horizontal visibility temporarily.
Regions Facing Storm Risks
These severe weather conditions will impact ten different regions. The storm threatens Musandam, Buraimi, and Muscat directly.
Heavy rains will also strike North and South Batinah. Dakhliyah, Dhahirah, Al Wusta, and both Sharqiyah governorates face similar risks.
Official Safety Advice
Authorities strongly urge all residents to exercise maximum caution today. Drivers must avoid crossing flowing valley streams entirely.
Families should stay safely indoors during the heaviest downpours. Please monitor official government channels for further urgent weather updates.
