Illegal taxi drivers arrested at Muscat International Airport

Muscat: Illegal taxi drivers transporting passengers from Muscat International Airport were arrested on Wednesday, the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) has reported.

According to MoM, 20 people were arrested in Muscat governorate on Tuesday night on charges of working illegally in Shisha restaurants, cafes and as drivers transporting passengers in private cars from the Muscat International Airport.

The Ministry of Manpower said in a statement online: "The Ministry's inspection team in Muscat arrested 20 workers yesterday evening who were working illegally in shisha restaurants, cafes and transporting passengers by private cars from Muscat International Airport."

The ministry added: "Legal procedures are being taken against them."
