A Constructive Critical Approach

Jordanian director Dr. Iyad Al-Rimouni presents an incredibly powerful new play. The emotional theatrical work is beautifully titled “A Woman’s Autumn.” This fascinating play raises deep issues regarding the daily reality of women. The director uses a highly constructive critical approach throughout the entire performance. He cleverly raises profound questions rather than simply providing easy, direct answers. The actors recently performed this masterpiece at the Jordanian Professional Theatre Festival.

Brilliant Stage Design

The complex stage design perfectly interacted with sound and physical movement. Designers distributed the stage across multiple complex viewing levels very carefully. You can clearly see carefully arranged colorful clothes hangers placed everywhere. The traditional scales of justice hang visibly in the dark background. The crew also hung strange cages that act like modern lighting units. Set designer Louay Abu Rabia distributed simple pieces like ropes perfectly. The smart scenography organizes the tense relationship between actors and the stage.

Visual Metaphors and Meaning

A thick rope serves as the most prominent visual element on stage. It dramatically keeps the lead woman’s neck tied during the heavy show. The stage beautifully expresses the complex emotional states of every single character. The clever script allows talented actors to shape the story through movement. The rhythmic dialogue harmonizes perfectly with the intense physical acting style. The play relies heavily on a thoughtful distribution of long dramatic pauses.

Stunning Lead Performances

Artists Omar Al-Dhamour and Amira Shaaban deliver absolutely stunning lead performances. Their vocal tones intertwine beautifully with their intense body expressions. The lighting designer used dark shadows with strong red spots very cleverly. This focuses the audience's attention and isolates the actors perfectly on stage. Beautiful singing and live music add another rich layer of raw emotion. This wonderful play offers audiences a truly unforgettable visual and emotional experience.
