Lorenzo Musetti Brutally Knocks World Number One Zverev Out of Paris Masters

Spoiling the Top Seed's Debut

The Paris Masters just delivered massive upsets that completely shattered the tennis world. Lorenzo Musetti absolutely spoiled Alexander Zverev's very first match as the new world number one today. The 24-year-old Italian knocked Zverev out of the round of 32 in a stunning 7-6, 6-2 defeat. Musetti hit 29 aggressive winners and fired eight massive aces during the match. He broke Zverev's serve twice in the second set, asserting total physical and mental dominance on the hard court.

Djokovic's Season Ends Early

The shocking upsets did not end with Zverev. Australian Rinky Hijikata completely ended Novak Djokovic's desperate hopes of qualifying for the season-ending championship. The 83rd-ranked Australian defeated the 24-time Grand Slam champion 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. The 39-year-old Serbian legend arrived in Paris desperately needing a deep tournament run. Instead, he faces another humiliating early exit following poor performances in Shanghai and Basel. Professional tennis is a brutal sport that does not respect past achievements.

More Seeds Fall

The chaos continued across the tournament bracket. Unseeded Peruvian Ignacio Buse achieved the absolute biggest victory of his career by ousting fourth-seeded Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-4, 6-4. Medvedev received a strict penalty for misconduct after slamming his fist on the court in pure frustration. Argentine Thomas Martin Etcheverry also caused a massive upset by defeating eighth-seed Alex de Minaur 7-6, 6-3. The top players are clearly cracking under massive late-season pressure.
