Men dressed as women arrested in Oman

 A number of men parading through the streets in Dhofar dressed as women have been arrested, according to police.

The men were arrested for "wearing women's clothes," according to a Royal Oman Police statement posted via an official online account.

An ROP spokesman said: "Referring to the news circulating through social media about a number of men wearing women's clothes in Dhofar. Police show that the men were arrested and the case is under legal proceedings.

The images and videos were circulated in the social media extensively. The case is pending in the court.

The article 266 of Oman Penal Code said that men appearing in female dress in public can lead to imprisonment ranging from one month to a year and a fine of RO100 to RO300 or one of them.
