Mwasalat Suspends Multiple Bus Routes During Heavy Weather
Mwasalat officially suspended several bus services today. The national transport operator responded to urgent weather alerts from local authorities.
The company prioritizes the complete safety and comfort of all passengers.
City Bus Routes Suspended in Muscat
Mwasalat confirmed the suspension of specific city routes for Thursday, March 26. The suspended lines include Route 6, Route 7, Route 9, and Route 10.
These routes normally serve busy areas like Al Khoud and Sultan Qaboos University. They also transport passengers to Mabela, Burj Al Sahwa, and the Misfah Industrial Area.
Intercity Transport Faces Major Disruptions
The severe weather also significantly disrupted long-distance intercity transport. Mwasalat canceled Route 52, which connects Muscat directly to Duqm.
The company also suspended Route 53 between Muscat, Ibri, and Buraimi. Finally, Route 103 serving Muscat, Haima, and Duqm will not operate Thursday.
Ferry Operations and Future Updates
Despite the land transport closures, the national ferry service remains active. The Shannah and Masirah ferry currently operates on its normal schedule.
Mwasalat coordinates very closely with national emergency authorities right now. Safety teams actively evaluate the safety of the remaining transport network.
The official contact centre will notify passengers directly about any further route closures.
