Mwasalat taxi services fares reduced from RO 6 to RO 3 starting from February 18, 2018.

 Mwasalat, the Oman National Transport Company, will start taxi operations at the Muscat International Airport from February 18, 2018.

The announcement was made following the signing of an agreement between Mwasalat and Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC).
 

 

"Mwasalat and OAMC signed an agreement for the Provision of Mwasalat Taxi in Muscat International Airport as of February 18, 2018," a statement from the taxi service provider said.

Speaking about the deal, Aimen Al Hosni, CEO of OAMC, said that the agreement will ensure airport fares are efficient and contribute to passenger services adhering to the highest standards.

 The base fare for airport taxis will be slashed by 50 per cent from Sunday, when Mwasalat will begin their taxi services.

Detailing the fares, Oman National Transport Company (Mwasalat), said that their taxi fares will begin from OMR3. "Right now the fares begin from OMR6 and 200 baisas per kilometre," the company said.

As per the revised charges, the minimum fare will be OMR3 and after that it will be 400 baisas per kilometre, for journeys up to 30 km. Beyond that, you'll be charged 200 baisas per km.

This rate will be applicable from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.

However, there is a minimum charge of OMR5 for airport taxis.

After 10:00 pm, the rates will begin from OMR3.6 and 450 baisas per km up to 30 km, and 200 baisas per km after that.
