Oman launches national survey on vector-borne diseases

Muscat: The Ministry of Health has launched a comprehensive national survey on vector-borne diseases. A team from Ministry of Health will visit homes and examine potential mosquito breeding sites.

The Ministry said in a statement: "Dear citizen and resident when field survey teams visit the site, the team will reveal their identity and give a brief overview of the survey mechanism, and will examine the possible places for breeding mosquitoes in the courtyard and around the house only."

The survey is an introduction to the implementation of the national strategy for integrated management of vector-borne disease. The survey will be launched on Monday in Dhofar Governorate.

The ministry added: "The areas to be surveyed will be announced in advance via social media. Teams will survey all sites in the advertised location including houses, structures, farms, streets, drainage channels, open courtyards, and beaches."
