Oman Launches Opportunities Platform for Local Businesses

The Oman Investment Authority launched the new Opportunities platform today. Officials cooperated closely with subsidiary companies to build it.

They want to create a sustainable economic impact locally. The platform empowers small and medium enterprises across the Sultanate.

It consolidates the role of the authority in promoting transparency. Minister of Economy Dr Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri sponsored the event.

Giving Suppliers Early Access

The platform improves the flow of market information. It enhances supplier readiness and opens new horizons for private businesses.

Suppliers gain early access to upcoming Oman Investment Authority tenders. They can view planned tenders three to six months early.

This early window helps suppliers plan their resources effectively. It allows them to build strong partnerships and compete efficiently.

The platform currently features 290 active tenders for local suppliers.

Leadership Perspectives and Vision 2040

Munir bin Ali Al-Muniri serves as Vice President for Operations. He stated the platform maximizes local content and business innovation.

These efforts align perfectly with the Oman Vision 2040 objectives. The platform builds a competitive and highly sustainable economic system.

He urged all entrepreneurs to use this integrated digital system. They should follow the updated tender information to enhance competitiveness.

Al-Mu’tasim bin Saeed Al-Sariri directs Local Content and Innovation. He linked these local content efforts directly to Oman Vision 2040.

The agency currently formulates an updated strategy for local content. This ensures complete synergy and coordination of all national efforts.

How the Digital Platform Works

The Oman Investment Authority assumes strategic supervision of the platform. Subsidiary companies enter and update their upcoming procurement plans directly.

They also interact directly with suppliers through the platform. Suppliers use this data to prepare early and raise inquiries.

This transparency reduces the information gap and enhances mutual trust. It also supports equal opportunities across the private sector.

The platform already holds 30 procurement plans from these subsidiaries. Officials currently prepare additional plans for the system.

The public portal displays the tendering entity and expected timelines. It also provides direct communication channels for interested parties.

The platform acts purely as a proactive information portal. Suppliers cannot submit actual bids through this digital window.

Companies must still submit official applications through standard entity channels.

Key Government Attendees

Many prominent government officials attended the exciting launch event today. Oman Investment Authority Chairman Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi attended.

Riyada Chairperson Halima bint Rashid Al Zarai also joined them. Shura Council Economic Committee Chairman Ahmed bin Saeed Al Sharqi participated.

Several CEOs from affiliated companies attended the ceremony as well.
