His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said yesterday issued five Royal decrees, as follows:
Royal Decree No. 2/2018 establishes a Centre for Competition Protection and Prevention of Monopoly and promulgates its system.

 

The architect of Mohsin Haider Darwish L.L.C. passed away wednesday morning, Oman's State Council has announced, offering its condolences to his family.
Mohsin Haider Darwish, Group Advisor, MHD Group Companies, was the chief architect of the company that started over half a century ago. He laid the foundation for MHD L.L.C. and steered it to meet the challenges of a nation on its path to rapid development and also measure up to the aspirations of its people.

Oman's victory in the Gulf Cup final last Friday evening, beating UAE 5-4 on penalties after regulation time and extra time went goalless, was hailed from all quarters as they lifted the cup for the second time in the history of the tournament. The team were given an official government reception as they landed back in Muscat on Saturday, and were escorted from Muscat International Airport to the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said also announced rewards for the Gulf Cup winning Oman football team's players, managerial and support staff, according to Oman's state news agency. Residential land plots were given to all the players, while technical and administrative staff were given financial rewards.

A 36 km long stretch of the Taqah-Mirbat road has been opened: Ministry of Transport and Communication Wednesday.
The dual road project includes the implementation of the dualisation of the road for a length of 36 km, with three flyovers, three tunnels for cars and 11 tunnels for animal crossing, as well as 150 metre long Khor Rori bridge.
