The official Omani Hajj mission for 1447 AH left the country today. The dedicated team headed straight to the Holy Land this morning.
Undersecretary Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Rashidi leads the official national mission this year.
A Warm Airport Farewell
Several prominent officials gathered at Muscat International Airport to say goodbye. Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs Dr Mohammed bin Saeed Al Maamari attended the farewell.
Saudi Ambassador Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan also joined the gathering. The delegation will travel directly to Mecca upon arriving in Jeddah.
A smaller specialized team will head to Medina shortly afterward.
Serving the Omani Pilgrims
The Omani Hajj mission will serve thousands of Omani pilgrims in the holy lands. They will carefully supervise the safe performance of all religious rituals.
The comprehensive mission includes religious guidance, fatwas, administrative, and financial delegations. It also includes medical staff, Royal Oman Police officers, and a dedicated media team.
Exactly 14,000 pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman will perform Hajj this year. This large group includes 13,560 Omani citizens and 440 local residents.
