Protect eyes while viewing solar eclipse in Oman: Health Ministry

Looking at the sun directly without protection during the solar eclipse may cause pain and other damage to the eyes, the Ministry of Health (MOH), warned.

A statement issued online by the MoH said: "Watching the sun directly at the time of the eclipse, or at any other time without a safe method of protection, may lead to one of the following symptoms: headache, pain in the eyes and sensitivity to light."

"The other symptoms of looking at the Sun directly include blurred vision, difficulty distinguishing colours and wavy or distorted vision," the statement added.
