Youngsters in Oman are 50.8pc males

A numerical equilibrium between the Oman’s young male and female population gender ratio is going to arrive soon.Against 49.2 per cent of females, the percentage of male Omani youth stood at 50.8 per cent, according to the latest statistics.

The difference of 49 per cent females to 51 per cent of male Omani youth remained in 2015. As of 2016, higher than global ratio of approximately 1,016 males to 1,000 females, the ratio of the total population stood at 1,439 males per 1,000 females at the same time.

 

Compared to 30.9 per cent for females, males accounted for 69.1 per cent of the total youth of the total population in Oman.

While the data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that youth in the age group of 18 to 29 was 30 per cent in 2015, this year it was at 27.6 per cent of the total population.

Till the end of September this year, job-seekers in the age group between 24 and 35 reached to the number of 42,077 youngsters including  university graduates numbering 17,690.

In the beginning of 2018 Oman population is projected to reach the number of 5,545,810 and for 2017, it is expected to reach 426,065.

As per the Country meters’ website report, the number of births will exceed the number of deaths by 92,463 as the natural increase is expected to be positive.

Finally, as of October 2017, Oman’s population density measured per square kilometre is 16.5 people.
