Oman and UNICEF Launch Child-Friendly Education Evaluation
The Ministry of Education launched an important evaluation study today. Officials partnered with the United Nations Children’s Fund for this project.
They will evaluate the Child-Friendly Education Initiative across the Sultanate. This step promotes inclusive and high-quality education for every Omani child.
Assessing the Educational Environment
A technical steering committee prepared this comprehensive assessment recently. The committee included the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health.
The team assessed how effectively the child-friendly education approach works locally. The Ministry and UNICEF originally developed this initiative together.
They wanted to make the educational environment highly attractive and child-friendly. The system places the child at the absolute center of the educational process.
A Participatory Evaluation Process
Evaluators conducted field consultations and visited many educational governorates. Children, parents, teachers, and school principals participated actively in the evaluation.
This diverse participation enriched the assessment process with valuable perspectives. Shanoona bint Salem Al Habsi delivered an inspiring speech today.
She represents Oman on the UNICEF Executive Board in New York. She emphasized the close strategic partnership between the Omani government and UNICEF.
Planning for the Future
Specialists held an engaging workshop to prepare an executive action plan. This five-year plan translates the report recommendations into practical programs.
The workshop outputs will shape the second version of the educational program. These efforts align perfectly with the national priorities of Oman Vision 2040.
UNICEF Representative Soumaira Chowdhury affirmed that every child deserves a safe environment.
