Customs seize huge quantities of contraband cigarettes, chewing tobacco and khat

Customs officials managed to seize huge quantities of contraband cigarettes, chewing tobacco and khat.

According to authorities the smuggled goods were seized in three different parts of Oman.
 

In a statement online Oman Customs said, “The Al-Wajajah Customs foiled the smuggling of banned cigarettes that were hidden in different parts of a vehicle.”

The Customs of Sarfait port thwarted an attempt to smuggle khat that was hidden under the rear seat of a vehicle, officials said.

Meanwhile, “The Al Buraimi port Customs busted an attempt to smuggle contraband cigarettes and chewed tobacco. The smuggled goods were hidden inside a refrigerator that was meant for vegetables and fruits,” authorities added.
