Breaking: Three school students killed in accident in Oman

Three students of the Jabal Akhdar School in the Wilayat of Nizwa were killed in an accident when a driver lost control of a school bus earlier this morning, announced the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

According to officials, the bus had a total of 12 male students, however, nine sustained moderate to severe injuries and were rushed to Jabal Akhdar health centre.

Around 8.25 am an ROP helicopter headed to the accident site to transfer the injured students to the nearest health centre.

In a statement online ROP said, " A total of 9 injured students were airlifted by an ROP plane from the scene of the accident to the Al Jabal Health Centre and the Nizwa Hospital."

The Royal Oman Police offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

Authorities also warned motorists to exercise caution while driving in mountainous areas and avoid speeding and illegal overtaking.
