Omani athlete banned from taking part in any events

The Anti-Doping Disciplinary Committee of Oman Olympic Committee has decided to ban the Sultanate’s 400-m sprinter Ahmed bin Mubarak bin Saleh al Saadi from
participation in all national, regional and international championships for four years with effect from November 8, a statement said.

The committee also stripped him of the results and medals he obtained from his participation in the 11th GCC Games held in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in April. The committee considered null and void the other medals, prizes and points he obtained from the same championship.
The penalty was imposed on him for violating anti-doping rules pursuant to the Omani Anti-Doping Regulation. A sample test administered on him by the Medical and
Anti-Doping Committee during these Games showed a positive result of Stanozolol, a substance which is banned both locally and internationally in accordance with the
list of prohibited substances issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 2017.
