If you’re trying to lose weight, but are unable to do so efficiently, you’re probably making the following mistakes:

5 Diet Mistakes You’re Making That Only Create More Belly Fat

If you’re trying to lose weight, but are unable to do so efficiently, you’re probably making the following mistakes:

1.   LOW-CALORIE DIETS WILL HELP YOU LOSE MORE WEIGHT

No, they won’t. Extreme diets will reduce your metabolic rate and make it more difficult to lose weight. Although the theory of eating less and losing more weight is true, it shouldn’t be done with a low-calorie diet. These diets will affect your body’s ability to burn fat, and reduce your chances of losing weight.

2.   EATING MORE SMALL MEALS EVERY DAY WILL ACCELERATE YOUR METABOLISM

Here’s another myth – eating 5 or more smaller meals throughout the day won’t help you lose more weight. It doesn’t matter how many meals you have – you need to find the ideal meal frequency regimen suitable for your schedule. Eating every few hours will prevent overeating and reduce your cravings, but won’t accelerate your metabolism or help you lose weight. This is one of the biggest and oldest myths people believe, but the truth is completely different.

3.   EATING LATE AT NIGHT RESULTS IN WEIGHT GAIN

Many people think that late meals are the thing that makes them gain weight. Some celebrities say that eating after 6 PM is the reason for being overweight, but the truth is that you gain weight because of what you eat, not when you eat it. According to studies, eating late at night won’t make you gain weight. A study from Israel that lasted for 6 months and examined hundreds of people showed that eating a large meal after 8 PM won’t make you gain weight. In fact, the participants managed to lose 10% more body fat and 11% more weight than people who ate their biggest meal for breakfast. The only problem with the last meal is not to turn it in to 3 meals and consume much more calories than you need.

4.   ALL CALORIES ARE NOT EQUAL

This is true, and it’s important to remember that the body processes different foods differently. 20-30% of all protein calories are burned during digestion, while 6% of carb and 3% of fat calories are burned at the same time. This means that if you’re trying to lose weight, you need to consume more protein. If you, for example, consumed 1000 calories from chicken and ice-cream, you’ll gain weight because of the ice cream. 20-30% of the protein calories would be burned during digestion, compared to only 3% from the fat calories that came from the ice-cream.

As you can see, these myths need to be debunked and everyone should learn the truth. If you’ve been trying to lose weight with them, find another option as they are the reason why you fail.
