Did you know that the Kellogg Company has recalled several of its snacks and cookies because they may have been contaminated with peanut residue by a flour mill in Georgia? And, the cookies, brownies and crackers included in the recall were made with wheat flour produced at Grain Craft flour company that may have undeclared peanut residue. They were distributed throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.Kellogg, citing the FDA, does not expect most consumers with a peanut allergy who eat the snacks to suffer a reaction.

Kellogg posted this statement on their website:

“While consumers with severe peanut allergies should avoid the recalled products, the FDA has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers. The company has received no reports of related illness to date.”

You should also know that the recall includes certain varieties and limited dates of production of Mother’s, Keebler, Kellogg’s, Special K brownies, Murray and Famous Amos snacks.
