Natural Hair Dye: Make your colours at home

Natural Hair Dye: Make your colours at home

When nothing changes in life, change your hair. And nothing could be more interesting than adding some happy colours to your hair and see a new you. But not all of us are comfortable messing with our beautiful tresses by applying chemical-based products. No matter how much the hairdresser tries to convince us about zero damage in colouring hair, not all of us feel confident enough to give it a try, not even on a few strands. For such people, we share a few basic tips to colour hair at home using absolutely natural and herbal ingredients.
Add some iron and antioxidants: Beetroot, a good source of iron, and carrots, a high source of antioxidants can give you a red-haired look. Replace these salads from your plate and juice it up. Spray this juice combination all over your hair. If you don’t prefer juice, make a thick paste and apply it to all over your hair using a brush. Keep it for 30 minutes, use a blow dryer on your hair or step out in sun for 30 minutes to let it dry. Rinse it off with shampoo followed by a conditioner. Use colour protection shampoos for long lasting effects.

Beetroot
P.S. Wear your old dark-coloured T-shirt while you apply this on your hair.
Brew it up for some darker shades : Prepare a decoction of your favourite tea or coffee. Brew one tablespoon of tea or coffee for 20 minutes. Let the water reduce by about a third and after that allow it to cool down. Filter the brew and keep it aside. Shampoo your tresses, followed by a good conditioning. Pour the brew through your damp hair. Repeat this twice a week for a good shade.

P.S. The same brew can be also prepared from cloves to add reddish tone to your hair.
Go back to grandma’s recipe: Henna is an old way to cover greys. It is also one of the best natural ingredients to colour hair, thanks for its extremely pigmented quality. It not only colours hair, it also has the properties to condition and nourish hair. Moreover the colour lasts for about a month. Take half a cup of henna and mix in half a cup of water. Make a smooth thick paste and apply it to your hair using brush. Rinse it off after two hours followed by a conditioner.

P.S. Add the brew we mentioned above if you want to get a brown shade.
Add some saffron to your tresses : Take a tablespoon of saffron and boil it in two cups of water for about 20 minutes. Let the liquid cool. Now apply the liquid to your hair from root to tip. Make sure your hair is completely saturated in the liquid. Leave it for an hour or two. Wash your hair with shampoo after it is dried enough.

Colour with walnut : Don’t throw away the walnut shells. The empty shells hold hair-colouring properties. Crush the shells and boil them for half a minute in water. After cooling down, strain it and apply on hair from roots to tip. Keep it for an hour before rinsing it off with shampoo. This will give a dark brown tone to hair. Happy hair colouring, girls!
