North Korea Targeting Cities in USA and Japan for Nuclear Strike

Should the US or even China move to invade or otherwise attempt to topple the regime, Kim-Jong Un would certainly unleash his nuclear arsenal.

As noted in the ECFR report, top North Korean officials confirmed the preemptive doctrine. “Li Yong Pil, director of the North Korean foreign ministry’s Research Centre on the United States, states that ‘a preemptive nuclear strike is not something the US has a monopoly on. If we see that the US would do it to us, we would do it first. We have the technology’.”

As of Monday, the United States has placed North Korea back on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, which allows them to impose further sanctions on the already beleaguered North Korean economy.

North Korea denied any involvement in terrorism and stated that the move was “serious provocation and violent infringement” on their government.
