IAEA Demands Halt to Attacks Near Iran Nuclear Plant

The International Atomic Energy Agency demanded an immediate end to attacks near Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant. Officials warned everyone about severe nuclear safety risks.

Real Threats to Nuclear Safety

Agency head Rafael Grossi stated that these nearby attacks threaten nuclear safety directly. He warned they could trigger a massive radiological disaster soon.

Such a disaster would harm people and the environment across the entire region. Military forces have attacked the surrounding area several times since the war began.

The most recent military strike occurred just last Saturday. Fortunately, satellite images show no actual damage to the critical nuclear facilities yet.

Protecting Critical Infrastructure

Grossi noted that one strike hit very close to the outer security fence. He stressed that military commanders must never target nuclear facilities.

They must also avoid attacking the surrounding areas under any circumstances. Russian technical experts actively help operate this specific power plant today.

Russian officials warned that continuing these attacks guarantees a severe radiological catastrophe. They demanded an immediate end to all local hostilities.

Iran's Only Active Reactor

The Bushehr facility operates as the only active nuclear reactor in Iran. Russian engineers provided vital technical support to build this plant initially.

The international community monitors this dangerous situation very closely right now.
