Oman Non-Oil Exports Increase by 15.3 Percent in Early 2026
Oman started the year 2026 with strong economic growth. The National Center for Statistics and Information just released positive trade data.
Non-oil exports increased by 15.3 percent this January. The country exported 613 million Omani Rials worth of goods.
Key Export Sectors Drive Growth
Several key product categories drove this impressive economic improvement. Mineral products stood out as the absolute best performer.
Mineral exports surged to 182 million Omani Rials this January. Base metal exports also posted a steady growth rate.
Electrical machinery and equipment exports saw a massive jump. Global buyers purchased 57 million Omani Rials of these goods.
Meanwhile, Omani chemical product exports edged up slightly. These figures show resilient external trade performance for Oman.
However, some specific categories did not record financial gains. Plastic and rubber exports declined to 66 million Omani Rials.
Top Destinations for Omani Goods
The United Arab Emirates remains Oman’s largest non-oil export market. Shippers sent 141 million Omani Rials of goods there.
Exports to Saudi Arabia also rose significantly this January. South Korea and the United States bought more Omani products.
Conversely, exports to India dropped during this same period. This decline reflects softer demand from a major trading partner.
Re-Exports Post Solid Increases
Omani re-exports also posted solid financial growth this January. They increased by 9.7 percent compared to last year.
Regional markets supported this strong rise in trade. Re-exports to Saudi Arabia recorded a massive financial surge.
Shipments to the UAE also rose during the month. On the other hand, re-exports to Iran and America declined.
Transport equipment remained a massive contributor to these trade numbers. Electrical machinery re-exports also recorded a very healthy increase.
