Finalists Announced For The Second Omani Chanting Festival In Nizwa

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth announced the festival finalists today. Eight talented singers qualified for the second Omani Chanting Festival finals. The event will take place in the Wilayat of Nizwa this October. It runs from October 18 to 22 in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The selection process evaluated 39 eager participants from across the country.

Evaluating Vocal Quality And Musical Mastery

Makram bin Sulaiman Al-Jabri and Ali bin Sulaiman Al-Alawi advanced successfully. They join six other vocalists competing for the top artistic honors. A judging panel evaluated the participants during the initial sorting committee phase. Omar Al-Buraiki chaired the panel, joined by Abdul Hamid Al-Kayoumi and Suleiman Al-Rashidi. The festival enhances the presence of chanting art in the cultural scene.

It supports national talents and creates an important cultural and artistic platform. The Ministry wants to discover new chanters and develop their musical abilities. The solo chanting competition features two distinct and rigorous evaluation stages. The six final qualifiers will perform live in front of the judging panel. Three chanting groups will also present artistic performances during the evening events.
