National Tent Pegging Team Qualifies For World Cup Finals In Jordan

The national tent pegging team successfully qualified for the upcoming World Cup finals today. The Omani team secured their spot alongside the highly competitive Pakistani national team. The national team riders achieved second place overall in the recent regional qualifying rounds. The Sultanate of Oman hosted these important qualifiers through the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation. The events took place at the well-equipped Royal Oman Police Cavalry track.

A Highly Competitive Regional Qualifying Event

The qualifiers included national teams from Oman, the United States, Qatar, Iran, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. The six countries competed intensely for just two available qualifying spots. The successful teams will travel to the World Cup finals in Jordan next November. His Excellency Mr. Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi sponsored the event's beautiful closing ceremony. He serves proudly as the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth in Oman.

The first day concluded with Iranian rider Salman Ghashlaqi winning first place individually. Pakistani rider Wajahatullah came in second, and Qatari rider Ibrahim Al-Hammadi finished third. The Pakistani team dominated the team category on day one, followed by Qatar and Iran. During the second day, the Pakistani team took the top three individual places entirely. At the team level, Pakistan finished first, followed by Iran, and then Oman.

Securing A Spot In The Prestigious Global Finals

The third and final day saw Pakistan continue its dominance in the individual category. Rider Tasawar Abbas took first place, followed closely by teammates Muhammad Sagheer and Muhammad Naseer. In the final team standings, the Pakistani team secured the overall first-place position. Our national team performed admirably to secure second place and World Cup qualification. The Qatari team finished third and advanced to the final continental play-off stage.
