Oman Aviation Sector Posts Record Profits and Massive Growth

Oman Air, SalamAir, and Oman Airports announced strong financial results today. The aviation sector marked a major growth phase for 2025.

Rising passenger numbers and expanding international connectivity drove this incredible performance.

Oman Air Achieves Historic Turnaround

Oman Air reported a historic financial turnaround for the year. The national airline achieved 3.2 million Omani Rials in earnings.

This milestone marks its first positive financial result in fifteen years. The company also reduced its bank debt by 27 million Rials.

This marks the first major debt reduction since the year 2009. The airline dropped its operating costs by six percent recently.

These incredible numbers reflect vastly improved corporate efficiency and planning.

Massive Passenger Growth

Oman Air successfully carried 5.8 million passengers last year. This figure represents an impressive eight percent passenger increase.

The airline achieved an 82 percent seat load factor overall. Direct travel demand surged by 34 percent year over year.

This surging demand directly supports vital tourism growth into Oman.

Expanding Flight Networks

The airline launched new direct routes to Amsterdam and Copenhagen. They also added flights to Baghdad, Taif, and Moscow recently.

Oman Air currently operates 33 aircraft across 45 global destinations. The company plans to add five new destinations in 2026.

They will expand their total fleet to 39 aircraft by 2029.

Oman Airports and SalamAir Break Records

Oman Airports handled 15.2 million passengers across the Sultanate recently. They also recorded a solid four percent rise in air cargo.

Muscat and Salalah airports won prestigious international service quality awards. Meanwhile, SalamAir generated an incredible 137 million Rials in revenue.

The budget airline safely transported 3.4 million passengers in 2025. Pilots operated over 22,000 flights with great on-time performance.

Future Fleet and Strategy Plans

SalamAir plans to enter exciting new international markets very soon. They will add Port Sudan, Nairobi, Kigali, Vienna, and Medan.

The airline will grow its fleet to 18 aircraft this year. They expect to operate 25 aircraft by the year 2028.

These three aviation entities firmly support the Oman Vision 2040. Their joint strategy builds an integrated regional aviation and tourism hub.
