A police officer has been stabbed to death in a busy shopping mall in Oman.
The incident, at City Centre Muscat mall, happened shortly after 1pm. The attacker was disarmed by police and taken to hospital, according to officials.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said issued a Royal Decree approving Oman's budget for 2018 on Monday. Three per cent economic growth forecast in 2018, says the budget statement.

Omani Omanis warned in India.The Omani Consulate in Mumbai has urged citizens visiting the city to be cautious while in public places in Mumbai these days because due to some protests and demonstrations that have been reported in the city. Fuel prices for the month of January have been announced. According to the latest prices released by the Ministry, M95 petrol will now cost 213 baisas per litre, compared to 207 baisas a litre in December.
