Sultan Haitham Issues Royal Decrees for Four Flood Protection Dams

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued four new Royal Decrees today. These important new laws focus entirely on national infrastructure and public safety.

The decrees grant public utility status to four major dam projects.

Protecting Communities from Floods

The government will construct four massive dams across different governorates. These dams will protect local communities from dangerous seasonal floods.

Royal Decree 51 covers a new dam in Wadi Meglas in Quriyat. Royal Decree 52 approves a flood protection dam in Lima, Musandam.

Royal Decree 53 focuses on Samad A’Shan in North A'Sharqiyah. Finally, Royal Decree 54 authorizes a dam for Wadi Bani Omar Al Gharbi.

This specific valley sits inside the Wilayat of Liwa.

Land Expropriation and Compensation

The law allows concerned authorities to expropriate necessary lands directly. They will also take control of any installations currently on these properties.

The government will compensate property owners fairly for their land. Authorities will follow the strict rules of the Public Utility Expropriation Law.

Officials will publish these decrees in the Official Gazette immediately. The laws take full effect starting from their date of issue.
