Bollywood actresses who have made their mark in the industry had to call it quits after they got married. But these days’ actresses no longer see the married tag to do any harm to their careers in any way. However, our film industry has had its share of actresses who bid goodbye to films after getting married. These actresses were successful in their in their career but still choose to leave their acting career post marriage. Some people enjoy a long journey and some are only for a short period in the industry. One of the most common reasons for the Bollywood Actresses to quit their journey in the B-Town is marriage. There are many Bollywood actresses who ruled the industry with their charm, beauty and acting skills but quit the industry once they tied the knot. Here are 10 actresses who called it quits after getting married.

1. Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna is also an author, newspaper columnist, film producer, former film actress and interior designer. Her first book ‘Mrs Funnybones’ sold over one hundred thousand copies, making her India's highest-selling female writer of 2015. She repeated the success with her second book, ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, which also went on to sell over 100,000 copies by August 2017. After leaving the acting profession in the same year, she ventured into interior designing. She does not have a professional degree and learned the skills by working with an architect for two years. She is the co-founder of the production company and has co-produced six features including the Marathi language drama 72 Miles. Now she has produced ‘PadMan’ and her husband was in the lead along with Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna got married on 17 January 2001. They have a son named Aarav and a daughter Nitara.
 

2. Saira Banu

She is one of the most popular Indian Hindi film actresses and the wife of the film actor Dilip Kumar. She acted in many Bollywood films between 1961 and 1988. Saira Banu was 16 years old in 1960, the year she made her debut to Hindi films. She said in a programme that she had basic talent and little dancing experience. Her peers all were classically trained which was why she wasn't put in the top league. Saira started taking Kathak and Bharata Natyam lessons with success and trained herself professionally. Soon she became a dancer, and her films flaunted more of her dance. Banu made her acting debut opposite Shammi Kapoor in the 1961 film ‘Junglee’, for which she earned her first Filmfare nomination as Best Actress. The famous song from this movie ‘Yaahoo!!’ Saira Banu married actor Dilip Kumar in 1966. Saira Banu was the third highest paid actress in Hindi Cinema from 1963 to 1969 and the fourth highest paid actress from 1971 to 1976.
