A Deadly Highway Disaster

Highway safety remains a massive, deadly issue across South Asia. At least 11 people were killed and several others suffered severe injuries following a horrific traffic collision in Pakistan today. Authorities confirmed that a packed passenger bus collided violently with a tractor on a main road in Pakpattan, located in the Punjab province. The brutal impact caused the large passenger bus to completely overturn onto the roadway.

Rescue Crews Scramble

Pakistani television channel Samaa TV reported that the doomed bus was traveling the busy route from Multan directly to Lahore when the disaster struck. Emergency rescue teams rushed to the chaotic scene immediately, deploying heavy equipment to extract desperate passengers trapped inside the crushed metal wreckage. Ambulances rapidly transported the critically injured survivors to nearby hospitals for emergency surgical treatment. The death toll may still rise as doctors fight to save the most severely wounded passengers.
