Al Dhahirah Governorate Prepares To Host Oman Ski Championship

The Omani Skiing Committee is finalizing preparations for a major sporting event. They will host the Oman Ski Ball Championship 2026 starting tomorrow in Ibri. The exciting competitions will take place at the prominent Ibri Sports Club. Elite local and international players will participate in this highly anticipated tournament. The event aims to spread the culture of skiing and develop sports talents.

Attracting Elite International Athletes To Oman

Teams from various countries will compete alongside players representing the Omani national team. This mix of participants contributes to the exchange of valuable athletic experiences. It also helps enhance the overall performance level of local Omani competitors. Engineer Saud bin Nasser Al Aufi discussed the exceptional importance of this championship. He serves as the Chairman of the dedicated Omani Skiing Committee.

He noted this is the first official championship supervised by the International Ski Federation. This recognition places Oman and Al Dhahirah firmly on the international sports map. More than 100 players and administrators representing 10 countries are expected to attend. Athletes from Asia, Europe, and Africa will add a wide artistic presence. The Omani Skiing Committee plans to expand the base of practitioners moving forward. They want to establish specialized training centers in all governorates for young talents. They also aim to refine national cadres of referees and coaches for international representation.
