Beware Eid holiday fireworks, warns Oman police

 Extra measures have been put in place to monitor the buying and selling of fireworks, Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.

As Eid al-Adha approaches and people buy firecrackers, which causes a danger to public safety, ROP announced that "instructions have been issued to tighten controls in all official areas to control any attempt to smuggle fireworks or sell them inside the Sultanate."
 

"Anyone who attempts to do so will face legal action, including submission to the appropriate courts. In this regard, the Royal Oman Police calls upon parents to monitor their children and advise them on the dangers of buying and using these fireworks," ROP said in a statement.
