Leaders Forum for Future Readiness Maps Out Oman’s Digital Government Transformation

Rethinking Government Services

The highly anticipated "Leaders Forum for Future Readiness" successfully concluded in Muscat today. The event, held as part of the strategic "Artaqaa" program, aimed directly at developing advanced work models and government services. Senior officials engaged in intense strategic discussions regarding building governments ready for the future. They focused heavily on keeping pace with rapid technological transformations and consolidating deep institutional innovation. The goal is moving far beyond traditional paperwork and bureaucratic delays.

A New Leadership Approach

Dr. Ali bin Amer Al-Shidhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology, delivered a powerful message. He stressed the absolute importance of the leadership role in guiding digital transformation pathways across the Sultanate. He stated that adopting forward-looking visions is crucial to reshaping government work models and improving actual service quality. The government wants to establish a strict "one government" approach that actively anticipates future transformations and places citizens at the very heart of the development process.

Focusing on Disruptive Innovation

The forum's interactive sessions heavily explored the concept of "disruptive innovation" as a vital strategic approach. Leaders discussed the critical differences between slow, sustainable innovation and rapid, disruptive change. The National Digital Transformation Program organized this massive event alongside the Royal Academy of Management and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences. The government clearly intends to build a proactive digital government that meets the ambitious targets of Oman Vision 2040.
