Oman Cricket Team Departs for Asian Games Qualifiers in Singapore
The Omani national cricket team departed for Singapore early this morning. The talented squad will compete in the 2026 Asian Games qualifiers.
Singapore will host this exciting sporting event from May 31 to June 9. Thirteen different Asian teams will compete fiercely for four final qualifying spots.
The successful teams will advance to the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
Entering the Final Preparatory Camp
The national team will enter an external preparatory camp in Singapore immediately. This camp represents the final stop before the official qualifying competitions begin.
The technical staff will focus heavily on raising player fitness and readiness. Coaches will implement intensive training drills to develop advanced tactical harmony.
Players will also adapt to the humid local climate and stadium conditions.
A Young and Ambitious Squad
The team just concluded a highly successful internal training program at Al Amerat. The players showed incredible enthusiasm and discipline during those recent sessions.
A young, entirely Omani squad will proudly represent the Sultanate this year. Veteran player Sufyan Mahmoud will lead the team as their official captain.
This move embodies the continuous, rapid development of Omani cricket.
Upcoming Group Stage Matches
Coach Sultan Ahmed leads the dedicated technical staff during this trip. The national team will begin their Group Two journey very soon.
They will face the Maldives team in early June. Afterward, they will play the host Singapore team on June 3.
