Oman Joins World Research Council Meeting in Kuwait to Discuss Scientific Curiosity

A Meeting of Regional Minds

The Sultanate of Oman proudly participated in a major regional meeting recently. The World Research Council organized this gathering for the Middle East and North Africa. Kuwait hosted the important event between November 2 and 4, 2026. Dr. Saif bin Abdullah Al-Hadabi led the Omani delegation to the summit. He serves as the President of the Research and Innovation Authority. The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences managed the daily events. They worked directly with the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon.

Focusing on Pure Curiosity

Delegates completely ignored direct commercial results during these intense discussions. They focused exclusively on the theme of curiosity-driven scientific research instead. Representatives from major research funding institutions exchanged their brutal, honest experiences. They understand that pure curiosity drives true innovation across research systems globally. Scientists must ask difficult questions simply to acquire completely new knowledge. They cannot always wait for immediate practical applications to justify their work. Understanding unexplained natural phenomena remains a vital goal for modern scientists.

Building a Better Future

Experts addressed the critical need for a highly supportive research environment locally. Researchers absolutely must analyze new scientific ideas without facing constant financial pressure. This academic freedom creates massive opportunities for future breakthroughs over time. It drastically expands the limited horizons of human knowledge in the region. This participation firmly strengthens regional cooperation among Middle Eastern research institutions. Oman completely plans to host the 16th annual meeting in 2028.
