Oman Launches Nafeth App for the Deaf Community
Oman launched the new Nafeth application today. This application serves people with hearing disabilities across the Sultanate.
The launch perfectly coincides with the annual Arab Deaf Week. The digital platform promotes essential digital inclusion for the community.
Dr Abdullah bin Hamoud Al-Harthi sponsored the exciting inauguration ceremony. He serves as the Undersecretary for Persons with Disabilities Affairs.
Empowering Independence and Inclusion
Sultan Al Ameri leads the innovative application as its CEO. He delivered an inspiring speech during the major launch event.
Al Ameri stated the project empowers individuals with hearing disabilities. The team actively removes frustrating daily communication barriers for users.
These actions significantly enhance personal independence and active societal presence. He considers this step the beginning of a larger phase.
Developers plan to redefine the digital access experience very soon. They want to create a highly humane and inclusive environment.
App Features and Digital Services
The project responds to the daily needs of 17,000 individuals. Beneficiaries can communicate directly with government and private entities easily.
Expert sign language interpreters facilitate these important daily digital transactions. The app offers a dedicated sign language news portal too.
Users can easily book sign language interpreters for special events. The system also displays physical sites adapted for various disabilities.
Building on Past Success
Nafeth expands upon the successful 2018 SignBook application efforts. The platform already provides more than 8,600 vital translation services.
The team successfully serves over 4,500 local beneficiaries right now. They cooperate with more than 35 government and private entities.
Several users shared their successful experiences with the helpful program. These presentations highlighted how the app facilitates vital community communication.
Expanding Strategic Partnerships
The center signed new agreements with seven major entities today. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning joined the platform.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Alizz Islamic Bank signed agreements. The National Center for Statistics and Information also participated actively.
