Second Edition Of Dhofar International Film Festival Opens In Salalah

The second edition of the Dhofar International Film Festival officially began today. The highly anticipated cultural event takes place in the beautiful Wilayat of Salalah. The Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex hosted the prestigious opening ceremony this evening. His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said proudly sponsored the inaugural event. Anwar bin Khamis Al-Ruzaiqi serves as the Chairman of the Omani Cinema Association. He stated the festival aims to support the growing regional cinematic movement. The festival places a massive emphasis on qualification and professional training. Organizers want to refine the technical capabilities of young Omani cinematic cadres. Attendees interact directly with experienced international directors and renowned industry experts. The program also showcases the outputs of the recent "Wathaq" documentary camp. The governorate successfully hosted this educational filmmaking camp earlier in June. The festival schedule includes several specialized training workshops for attendees. Experts will teach cinematography techniques and the use of folk tales in modern cinema. The public can enjoy daily film screenings and a special dialogue session. Organizers titled this specific panel discussion "Biography and Career". This event solidifies Dhofar as a premier cultural destination in the region.
